Have the freedom to seek help from the comfort of your home, or anywhere nationwide, with our online counselling services.
What is online therapy?
Online therapy is as effective as in-person sessions - if not more effective in some cases. Therapy sessions operate exactly as they would in person, just remotely. You pick the time. You pick the location. It's counselling, on your terms.
We use a secure platform to conduct online sessions, giving peace of mind that everything remains private and confidential.
Why online therapy?
We understand that seeking therapy is a big step in itself, and often, the busyness of life can serve as a barrier to reaching out. This is why Winchester Counselling offers online therapy to both individuals and couples. Everyone is entitled to help and we're committed to making it fair and easy for individuals to access.
Online counselling gives you the freedom to speak with a counselling professional anywhere, anytime. This can mitigate any anxieties around seeking help by conducting sessions where you feel the most comfortable.
If you have difficulties with transport, live in a remote area, are unwell or in lockdown, online therapy is a great alternative. Conducting sessions online allows for a consistent touchpoint with you counsellor, ensuring that you have access to therapy no matter the circumstances.
Winchester Counselling's online services include:
Anxiety and stress therapy
Anger management therapy
How online counselling works
If you're ready to explore online therapy, the first step is to get in touch to arrange an initial consultation. Once confirmed, we'll send you an online meeting room link. This link is unique to you to use for your personal appointments.
To ensure your online counselling sessions run smoothly, it's important to have a reliable internet connection and a device with a working camera and microphone. This could be either a computer, tablet or smartphone. Typically, the bigger the screen the better.
Is online counselling right for you?
Online counselling works well for people who are particularly anxious about engaging in therapy. Often, individuals feel there is a sense of freedom and anonymity with the physical distance created by remote sessions. This often means that people are less hindered when discussing problems and concerns, allowing us to make more progress.
Our online therapy service is also popular for people who are particularly busy, live in remote areas or have transportation and/or mobility difficulties. The ability to access online counselling helps overcome many of these barriers, allowing us to reach more people in need.
What our clients say about online therapy
"My partner and I found Andrew to be incredibly skilled at facilitating emotionally charged, honest (and sometimes difficult) conversations between us - always in a safe, supportive and caring environment. He gave us some great tools and insights to help us move forward in our relationship. Andrew is a pro, and we have already recommended him to some of our close friends" - Confidential Client
