Why Online Counselling?
Online counselling gives you the freedom to speak with a counselling professional anywhere, nationwide.
Seeking help is made easier by saving time on travel and sessions can be conducted in the space where you feel most comfortable.
If you have difficulties with transport or mobility, if you live in a remote area, or are unwell to illness or COVID-19 restrictions, or when running out of time to get to your appointment, then counselling online is a great alternative.
What is Online Counselling?
Online counselling is effective as having an in-person session. Therapy sessions will operate exactly as they would in person, but remotely.
Online counselling works well for people with anxiety, worry, and stress, depression, sleep problems, relationship problems, anger, and adapting to life changes. Andrew finds that people are less hindered when discussing problems and concerns than when discussing concerns issues in person. There is a sense of freedom and anonymity with the physical distance.
Winchester Counselling uses a secure online platform, to ensure peace of mind that your conversations are private and confidential.
How does online counselling work?
The first step is to reach out to Andrew at Winchester Counselling and arrange an initial meet - whether this be online, over the phone or in person.
Once your appointment is confirmed, we will send you a meeting room link unique to you for use that is used for your personal appointments.
For online counselling with an online video appointment, it’s important to have a reliable internet connection, a computer or tablet, or smartphone is required. Please ensure that your technology choice has a working camera and microphone. Typically, the bigger the screen the better.
Is Online Counselling right for me?
The service is popular with busy people and those that live in remote areas where counsellor choice is limited. When you do make the decision to access help for your health, wellbeing, your relationships or your workplace speak with an experienced, quality counsellor at Winchester Counselling.
Please note Winchester Counselling Online Services is not suitable for severe and chronic psychiatric concerns, anyone under the age of 18 or anyone experiencing thoughts of suicide. If you need to talk to someone immediately please call Emergency Services on 111 or Lifeline on 0800 543 354.
